Who we are

mechanix.gg is an independent project that runs browser-based gaming reaction benchmarks. Questions about this policy go to hello@mechanix.gg.

Stored on your device

We use your browser’s local storage, not cookies, for:

• Your ability keys: whether Flash and Cleanse are on D or F.
• Your recent results: date, benchmark, mode, score and median reaction time, so the results page can show your previous best.

This never leaves your browser. Clearing your site data removes it.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page, the referring site, and your approximate country, browser, operating system and device type. It sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you or follow you across other sites.

We may also record anonymous gameplay events, such as a benchmark being started, completed or abandoned. They include the mode, your chosen key, the score summary, and technical context: browser, window size and display refresh rate. They aren’t tied to an identity and use no cookies.

Benchmark results

To improve the benchmarks and, later, show how scores compare, we may store completed sessions on our servers. A session includes the score, per-attempt timings and outcomes, the mode, the scenario seed, your display refresh rate, and a one-way hash of your browser’s user-agent string. We don’t store your IP address or anything that identifies you with them.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and keep it secure, under its own privacy policy.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, names, emails or passwords (unless you email us).
• No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
• No selling or sharing of data for marketing.

Your choices and rights

You can clear local data at any time in your browser settings, and block analytics with a content blocker; the benchmarks work either way. Because what we collect is anonymous, we usually can’t link any of it to you, but if you have a request or question about your data, email hello@mechanix.gg and we’ll help where we can.

Children

The site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
